In the Obama Kwanzaa Series we have been comparing Obama's principles and performance, especially his fourth year in office, to each of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. The question on this last day of Kwanzaa is does Obama demonstrate and/or merit the traditional faith of the ancestors?

The First Family Popa Joe and his wife Dr. Jill did it again!

7. IMANI (Faith) [ee-MAH-nee]
To believe with all our hart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

In Classical African times the people had faith in their leaders the Kings and Queens of Kemet (called pharaohs by the Greeks) and the Kings had faith in their people (Ancestor inclusive). Most of the leaders were highly cosmologically developed individuals living in the service of their people and building the first great multi-ethnic society in recorded history. The great monuments and instructional tools of Classical African Civilization, Kemet (ancient Egypt) shine to this day, proclaiming the victory of their struggle. But the King did not do this by him or herself the people helped. The people built the great African pyramids with the King and his family as the greatest public works project in recorded history.

I read the first lady's book and It is a real eye opener on health in general and what each of us can do to improve our family's health.
Once again their are family leadership teams on the earth. The advantages to the nation from the first family have been family wide. The First Lady's National Let's Move Project to reduce child obesity and her effort to help us all eat more healthy food, starting the first White House Kitchen Garden to improving school lunch quality. What a breath of fresh air.
We are leaving the 2012 era of Pisces, where Sleeping Giants sat on a wall, and the Sleeping Giants had a great fall, and all the King's horses and all the kings' men, even with community organizers, had difficulty putting our community back together again. Today it is 2013 and we enter the age of Aquarius, we have a new ballgame folks, what we do with it is up to us.
The first day of the new year and the last day of Kwanzaa with its family gathering, good food, music and cultural/educational gifts is a good time to renew our commitment to putting the community back together again. What better place to start then with the full family energy at the last day feast.
Let's Go To The Video Tape
For each new day of Kwanzaa, a new candle is lit, and children and adults share their thoughts, songs, stories from the past, dreams about the future, and a delicious feast on the last day. Based on the book by Andrea Davis Pinkney.

Imagine that, an elegant American First Lady down in the dirt with us growing healthy stuff, WoW!
There are children who have had faith in Obama as a parent, there are students that have had faith in Obama as a professor of law and his leadership as a politician is already legendary. He had faith in the American people when we and many in the world had lost faith. I humbly submit to you, that Obama's "Yes We Can" mission of hope is Kwanzaa's IMANI in modern practice. Imani brings with it a special community wide positive energy and we must keep that energy moving all year. This is especially true this year, with an extremest Republican congress and the forces of Cultural Anti-humanism diminished but still thrashing around. In 2014 we will have our opportunity to step to the plate once again and put additional life in our new ballgame. Speaking of life.

Some leaders say they help others, it is a new ballgame when you have leaders who lead by example.
Travon Martin an innocent AA child was stalked and killed by an Cultural Terrorist. Bad cops/"justice" system refused to arrest the terrorist. We had faith in our President and he stepped forward to say that "if he had a son, he would look like Travon". He assured the nation that justice would be done and the terrorist was arrested. Hcandidate Obama said if he had a shot at the 911 head terrorist he would take it, we had faith, and as President he took our shot and the rest is history.
In his first term, I and many Americans said we had faith in the community organizer to deliver Health Care Reform (HCR), end the Bush wars and prevent the 2nd Republican Great Depression. Our faith was not misplaced, HCR is now law. In fact, He has kept 227 Promisis and here is a list of 90 other community Organizing type Presidential results. We had faith in Obama and he has done his job during his four years in office, our Auto industry is back, employment is up and unemployment down. It is now time for us to do our job. I do my small part with OFA. The question is, how do you do your part?
It is a great time to be alive and partaking in history. I enjoyed this holiday season with my family, that is, my immediate family, my cyber-family, my ethnic family, my national family yes, and even my Newsvine family, tnx guys.
Obama's fourth year's performance as President confirms the fact that he is a good new wave example of the ancient First Fruits Festival principle of IMANI. Our ancestors from Ausar, Heru and Auset to Garvy, King and Fannie Lou Hamer are proud of the President's four year effort to leave the Nation and the World better and more beautiful then he found it.
Housekeeping note. The enormous jump in the National Cultural Health of the American people in 2008 inspired me to start this Kwanzaa series utilizing the most visible AA from our community, as a popular means of exploring and analyzing the 7 principles. In 2012 my fellow citizens reaffirmed their faith in our President by reelecting him. This is the fort year of the series and I like to think it gets better every year and that you find it useful. TeamAmerica's demonstration of IMANI has encouraged me, through the all seeing Eye of Ausar, to continue the series for his second term.
