In the Obama Kwanzaa Series we have been comparing Obama's principles and performance, especially his third year in office, to each of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. The question on this last day of Kwanzaa is does Obama demonstrate and/or merit the traditional faith us the people and the ancestors? Plus tribute to our soldiers (Video)

Call: Habari Gani
Response: _________?
7. IMANI (Faith) [ee-MAH-nee]
To believe with all our hart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
In Classical African times the people had faith in their leaders the Kings and Queens of Kemet (called pharaohs by the Greeks) and the Kings had faith in their people (Ancestor inclusive). Most of the leaders were fully spiritually developed individuals living in the service of their people and building the first great multi-ethnic society in recorded history. The great monuments and instructional tools of Classical African Civilization, shine to this day, proclaiming the victory of their struggle. But the King did not do this by him or herself the people helped. The people built the great African pyramids with the King as the greatest public works project in recorded history.

Now we are in a new time, where the Sleeping Giants sat on a wall, and the Sleeping Giants had a great fall, and all the King's horses and all the kings' men, even with community organizers, had difficulty putting our community back together again. If the job is to get done we must help once again.
The first day of the new year and the last day of Kwanzaa with its family gathering, good food, music and cultural/educational gifts is a good time to renew our commitment to putting the community back together again. What better place to start then with the full family energy at the last day feast. If you have not been to a Kwanzaa feast join this TV family and check it out.

I saw this many years ago and thought it a good example of and inclusive AA First Fruits Festival. I hope our readers enjoyed joining in.
There are children who have had faith in Obama as a parent, there are students that have had faith in Obama as a professor of law and his leadership as a politician is already legendary. He had faith in the American people when we and many in the world had lost faith. I humbly submit to you, that Obama's "Yes We Can" mission of hope is Kwanzaa's IMANI in modern practice. Imani's brings with it a special community wide positive energy and we must keep that energy moving all year. This is especially true this year, as we move into the 2012 election season.

The 2012 election is for the soul of America. In African Cosmologics 12 is represents the end of a cycle and 13 the new beginning. America is an example of such a cycle with its 13 stars and stripes. Take a one dollar bill out of your pocket and note the symbols from Classical African Civilization you carry with you every day. Count what Heru (American Eagle) holds in his talons, what number did you get 13? How many thirteens can you find in one dollar?
America is due for its next new beginning, her Cultural Anti-humanism cycle is ending and a new tone will be set for her 21st Century greatness. In November, let us launch the Green moon shot heard round the world to recharge our nation and mother earth.

We have had faith in the community organizers to deliver Health Care Reform. Our faith was not misplaced, the Affordable Care Act is now law. The President says he keeps his promises in his desk, and he has kept 60% of them. Independent sources don't say 60% but they due count 159 promises he has kept.
As a G.I. I had faith that Obama would do a better job for our troops then Bush did for our troops, and he did. At my local Veterans Administration satellite facility we no longer sit or stand in the hall for blood work. We have a proper waiting room now. In the end faith must be justified by living Ma'at, what he citizen can touch and feel as a practical matter. As a G.I. I know that there is no better thing that can be done for a soldier then bring us home to our family. The President did just that this year.

We had faith in Obama and he has done his job during his three years in office. It is now time for us to do ours. I do my small part with OFA. The question is, how do you do your part?
It is a great time to be alive and partaking in history. I enjoyed this holiday season (despite the hard times) with my family, my extended family, my cyber-family, my ethnic family, my national family, yes and even my Gym Rat and Newsvine family, tnx folks.
Obama's third year's performance as President confirms the fact that he is a good new wave example of the ancient First Fruits Festival principle of IMANI. Our ancesters from Ausar, Heru and Auset to Garvy, King and Fannie Lou Hamer are proud of the President's three year efforts to leave the Nation and the World better and more beautiful then he found it.
Housekeeping note. The enormous jump in the National Cultural Health of the American people in 2008 inspired me to start this Kwanzaa series utilizing the most visible AA from our community, as a popular means of exploring and analyzing the 7 principles. This is the forth year of the series and I like to think, with little tweaks, it gets better this year then I left it last year,LOL.
What do you think?
P.S. Hay, if I made any errors feel free to point them out so I can make next year better then this year. tnx
